These eggs from "Santa" really are all hatching into shiny Pokemon, huh? It's great, because now no one is left out of seeing just what a shiny is!

[Cheria is looking all sorts of estatic today, and when she eventually turns the feed, it's clearly from the silver Eevee playing with Eri, pink Wooper.] Chrys really is just too darn cute for his own good! Most Eevees are brown, but he hatches and sparkles like sunlight on water.. it's almost too much!

[Swooning over the cuteness? Definitely, when the silver fox comes trotting over to see what is making his trainer squeal; little does he know that he's the reason, apparently! Kneeling down and sitting, Chrys climbs up in her lap and lets out a victorious little Veeee!! to which Cheria reacts by scooping him up in a fierce cuddle.]

Augh, too cute!

I almost don't want to make him evolve into anything later on, he's such a perfect silver shade like this! What egg did you get from Santa?

[Ushio reaches off-screen and holds up her new shiny Ralts. Which then proceeds to stick its tongue out at the screen.]

This is Mei. You don't have to evolve them if you don't want to, right?

No, but they do get stronger, and all of Eevee's evolutions are really cute! [Laughing at the Ralts, Cheria beams.]

Mei is certainly cute too! I've heard that Ralts are the feelings Pokemon, and can always tell how you feel.. so does that raspberry means you're feeling mischievous? [Soft tease.]

You're quite welcome, Ushio. An Eevee can evolve into seven different Pokemon, depending on the circumstances. If you don't take an evolution stone to them, they will probably evolve on their own after enough time, and if it is day or night. If it's daytime, it evolves into an Espeon, the psychic type. If it's nighttime, it evolves into an Umbreon, the dark type.

I'll have to keep that in mind. Are the stones available at any stores?

Yup! They're pretty expensive though, and once they evolve they can't change back. Vaporeon comes from a water stone, Jolteon from a thunderstone, Flareon from a fire stone, Glaceon from an icy rock, and Leafeon from a mossy rock. [She would totally splurge on a stone for Ushio.]

Sounds like I have quite a decision to make.

That little gleam is nice once you get used to it, but I think I'd be more impressed if I know what mine is supposed to look like.

[Next to him, the shiny Beldum floats.]

[Looking over the silver critter, Cheria is poking with her dex before producing the picture.]

They're supposed to be blue and red, it seems. So Eevee and Beldum are both silver, how neat!

Blue and red? That would have been nice, too.

[The Beldum floats for a few more seconds, staring at the screen, before letting itself fall over Ash's arms.]

...Some youthful enthusiasm would have been better though. At least your fox has some energy.

If it breeds, you could always wind up with more.

[Laughing gently, Cheria winds up snuggling Chrys.] It's probably just the species; a Beldum being calmer makes up for a lot of worrying about them getting into trouble, doesn't it?

I'd ask how lumps of metal can breed, but I'm sure I wouldn't like the answer. Even if none of the babies turned out to be trouble makers.

[He gives the Beldum a few gentle pats.]

I really don't even think about how anything breeds anymore, like cats hatching from eggs.

If we could bring one of those back with us, science classes would never be the same. Researchers would cry at the sight of it.

Researchers wouldn't know what to do with a Ditto either, it would baffle them for decades!

So we'd need one Ditto, one mammal egg... A few Steel-type species, too. I know many engineers who'd do anything to observe them.

[Giggling softly.] Right, and even the living grass types would be amazing to watch in a different environment!

Tree and flower species too, for the whole plant coverage. Oh, and Houndours. Kids would love to see dogs that breathe fire.

He's really so cute, I don't know what I'd possibly want him to evolve into!

Maybe you should keep him little for a while! He may take a while to evolve anyway, so you may as well enjoy him being so little.

I think that will definitely be the plan. I don't think any of his evolutions are all that big, but I can't imagine it would be easy to cuddle up with some of the types.

Oh yeah... The larger they get, the less cuddly they become. But sometimes they try to do it anyway.

Hee, yeah.. I think the only one you really need to worry about doing that is a Snorlax.

Oh, yes... I've heard of those. Tricky buggers, aren't they?
