Everyone, please be careful if you are still trying to travel for the holidays. It really doesn't look like this weather is letting up, plus it's... well, you all have seen the news, right?

I'm somewhat glad I mailed all my gifts out earlier, but I got a message from the post office saying the gifts will likely be delayed a few extra days, just from all the heavy weather. Eridan and I are staying in Cerulean for the time being, so please, nobody worry about us.

I also had a question, um.. is there such an item that makes it so a Pokemon doesn't evolve? Do you think, if it is real, that it is a good idea to use? Or is it wrong to make it impossible for a Pokemon to evolve?

H-hahahaha! [It really is funny, and she didn't mean to laugh, but oops that just totally came out.] That's a good way to look at it.

Every species has to have an advantage, right? Otherwise, people wouldn't bother adopting them.

That makes a bit of sense. I'm not sure why someone would want a Grimer or a Trubbish, but I suppose in that train of thought, they're excellent choices.

They'd be perfect anti-burglar weapons, too. Those poor unsuspecting thieves would be begging for the police to show up after a few minutes.

I feel like I should agree, but on the other hand, if they're trying to break in and steal something..

Hey, maybe they're trying to feed their families. Or pretending to be Robin Hood.

But it's so easy to get a job at a center! I'm sure the nurses there would be happy to help someone out if they were down on their luck enough to be trying to feed their family!

Robin Hood... well, there certainly aren't any overly rich jerks demanding more money out of people around, so there doesn't need to be someone doing that?

They could be armless and legless! They wouldn't be able to help around the center like that. ...But then they wouldn't be able to sneak into a house, either.

Isn't that what trainers do? Defeat other weaker people in battle and ask them to hand over their life savings?

They don't take their life savings, just a certain amount! We would have way too many poor kids around if that were the case.

That 'certain amount' adds up, you know. And since we never see them win...

They never seem to run out though.

...Really. Maybe they get regular money transfers from their families.

I wonder if they just have a bunch of money saved up at home, and their parents give them an allowance?

That's possible. Or maybe they work a week at the mart and spend the rest of the month challenging people with that money.

That would be another way to do it, yes.

...Then again, some of the trainers near Violet are there every day. Are they working the night shifts?

They must be. Wow, there is.. really a lot to think about for something as simple as the people who naturally live here.

They'd probably feel the same if they saw our worlds. Culture clash and all of that.

I would hope they wouldn't come in during the war back home. It really isn't a good first impression and all.

...It really wouldn't, huh. Guess I won't get to invite anyone to visit.

[She pauses, before quieting her voice.] Is there one in your world as well, during your time?

During my time? That war's been going on longer than I've been alive. There was a truce about one hour before I was brought here, but...

[Who knows how long it'll last?]
