We had small monsters hanging around outside of town, as well as the neighboring country right next door pretty much. Kids weren't really.. allowed to go outside the borders of town without an adult, so it isn't until I was traveling around with my friends that I really ever encountered the domestic pets like that. So I suppose we got more warnings about monsters and bad guys with guns than bunnies having giant teeth.
