There's got to be a flashlight in here somewhere...
[There's a soft, light voice coming from offscreen, pointing off into the water with scenery familiar to most beginners; just outside Mom's house, and the lights are off and that door looks quite locked. The user of this gear was patting around, rummaging through a heavy sounding bag, but... something in the darkness moves.
The rustling of plastic on grass is out of place enough to startle the voice, because there's a squeak.]
Is someone there? Hello?
[Nothing but more rustling, and it's weirding the girl out. Picking up the gear and finally flicking on the flashlight that was found, there's a brief picture of her face finally, but something is leaping off screen and making her scream sharply, dropping the gear.]

[The question makes her eyebrow twitch though, a nervous tic showing on her face.] A-absolutely not. Starters are supposed to be cute, and people gain such strong bonds that they're almost like friends in furry bodies. Mine can't possibly be a trash bag!

But it's.. a trash bag. [Cheria is still so stuck on that little part.] I know that the heart and feelings are so much more important but, it's.. it's really hard to believe that this is... mine. [Inwardly sobbing, outwardly holding her face. Plugging her nose a little abruptly, the Pokemon seems to have come closer, so she turns her gear to show it.

I'm not sure how to tell if it's a boy or a girl. [I mean, it's a little awkward checking dogs and cats, but at least it's as simple as looking. With the trash bag, she has no idea where to start.]
It'd be easier to pick a name if I knew.

Are you a boy, or a girl? [Reaching and drawing in the dirt, she's making a boy or girl symbol difference, before repeating and pointing at one for boy, the other for girl. The things she does to name genderconfusing trash bags...... sob it's still a trash bag how is she going to deal with this.]
